The mixer was called a Headshot Happy Hour, and attendees had the opportunity to get their headshot taken by Nolan Motis Photography, in exchange for a donation of lightly used professional clothing or a monetary donation benefiting Working Wardrobes®. This organization provides career services and has helped change the lives of nearly 95,000 men and women overcoming difficult challenges. We had Working Wardobes®representative Nicole Rosales at the event with us and shared the news that we not only collected a large box full of professional clothing, but nearly $300 in donations as well.
The AVIXA Women’s Council is a group of audiovisual and integrated experience folks who want to support women in our industry, and host mixers to promote networking and learning. As a majority woman-owned business, Mad Systems naturally is a supporter of the AVIXA Women’s Council and we found it was important to show our support by hosting a mixer.
Proud of one of our recent local installations, we hosted the August mixer at the headquarters of one of our clients, the Water Replenishment District of Southern California (WRD). We completed renovations of their lobby last summer, and are currently working on the design and integration of their visitor center in Pico Rivera to be completed in spring 2019.
Following the networking portion of the event, we hosted an open panel discussing a variety of topics surrounding women in the workplace. Thank you to everyone who attended, as well as our panelists and moderator!
