QuickSilver®
next-generation audio-visual solutions
producing ultra-flexible, cost effective, future-proof AV systems for the 21st Century
for those who expect the best
Not long ago, we found ourselves standing on the precipice of a new era in the realm of audiovisual (AV) technology. With the advent of cost-effective, high-performance solid-state computers, coupled with the emergence of durable, long-lasting projectors, the traditional AV landscape started to feel outdated and inefficient. We questioned the need for disparate devices from a multitude of manufacturers, each requiring intricate coordination to function in harmony.
Instead, we envisioned a system built from the ground up to be cohesive and symbiotic, promising advantages that the previous generation solutions simply couldn't deliver. This idea sparked our interest in commercial-grade WiFi, presenting the tantalizing prospect of eliminating costly infrastructure investments, potentially saving hundreds of thousands of dollars.
We also saw an opportunity to address one of the most persistent frustrations in AV systems - the need for signal extenders. By leveraging WiFi technology, we could drastically reduce, if not entirely eliminate, this issue. This was the eureka moment that led to the creation of what we now proudly call QuickSilver®.
Embrace the future with us. QuickSilver® is not just a concept, but a reality - here, now, and validated by its proven performance. Welcome to the next generation of AV solutions.
QuickSilver® by Mad Systems represents a revolution in audiovisual (AV) systems, providing a set of features and possibilities that make it a compelling choice for museums, visitor centers, and theme parks. This innovative system utilizes non-proprietary, commercial-grade hardware and delivers a host of advanced options that make it the next-generation AV solution.
QuickSilver® offers a suite of capabilities designed to tailor content for groups or individual visitors. It can efficiently manage different content to meet ADA requirements, create flexible graphics using projectors instead of fixed graphics, provide content in different languages without overloading graphics panels, cater to various interest groups, and replace framing and gobo projectors with video mapping solutions.
This system is designed to fully integrate personalization, including RFID, NFC or recognition options for a more personalized visitor experience. This includes Mad's Patent Pending Facial Recognition, License Plate, or Color/Pattern Recognition control systems. Although not a requirement, QuickSilver® is recognition-ready, providing an optimized level of flexibility for these options.
The QuickSilver® toolkit utilizes a WiFi network backbone, which enables significant cost reductions by reducing or even eliminating the installation of costly conduit and signal cable without sacrificing system reliability. This is achieved since the WiFi link is used only for system control and occasional media updates.
QuickSilver® comprises a suite of main non-proprietary hardware-based components that together provide a highly stable solution with unprecedented flexibility. This includes a central control system, a network-controlled power management interface, a range of WiFi controllable micro-miniature video/media servers and I/O devices, a WiFi controllable micro-miniature audio replay device, a central media storage facility with automatic updating capability, and a commercial-grade WiFi system.
As a low-cost AV solution, QuickSilver® allows manual change of media delivery per exhibit, per group of exhibits, or venue-wide by staff members to accommodate specific target groups at any time. When combined with RFID or other similar technology or the optional Facial Recognition system, QuickSilver® can recognize each visitor at each exhibit, personalizing the content displayed for each visitor based on their preferences.
QuickSilver® also provides extensive ADA options. The system can recognize visitors with special needs and adjust the exhibit accordingly, such as lowering the buttons on the touch screen, increasing the audio volume, or providing subtitles in different laguages. The system can present high-contrast media to cater to the needs of visually impaired guests. When a visitor is recognized by the system, QuickSilver® can customize the story delivery to their individual preferences, including language, interests, and subject knowledge.
Finally, updating QuickSilver® media is as simple as changing the content on a central drive. The system detects changes in files, uploads the revised content to the relevant device, and begins using it.
Let's talk about QuickSilver® can provide you with your next AV system - but this time, for a long-term solution!
