OPEN POSITION

Multimedia Artists / Motion Graphics Designers

Full-time, on-site at 733 N Main Street in Orange, California. Posted October 18, 2026.

Two full-time positions | Orange, California | On-site | Immediate openings

Create something people can step into.

An animation that makes a complex idea clear. An animated character that brings a story to life. An interactive exhibit that invites someone to explore.

We are looking for two hands-on multimedia artists who want to create that kind of work.

At Mad Systems, we bring together creative media, interactive technology, and physical environments to build visitor experiences. These positions focus on producing the graphics, animation, video, and visual assets that make those experiences engaging, understandable, and memorable.

You should bring strong Adobe Creative Cloud skills, a thoughtful visual approach, and practical experience using generative AI to produce finished media.

These are full-time, strictly on-site positions at our Orange, California facility, with an immediate start preferred. These are not remote or hybrid roles.

The opportunity

You will work primarily from creative briefs, scripts, and project requirements, taking assigned pieces through visual development, production, review, and final delivery.

Your creative input is essential. We want people who can follow a brief while contributing a better visual explanation, a stronger composition, a more effective animation, or a fresh approach to the storytelling.

We are open to hiring two experienced artists or a senior artist alongside a strong production-focused colleague. Your individual strengths can differ, but both positions require solid design fundamentals, strong production skills, and the ability to deliver polished work.

What you will create

  • Films and animated sequences: linear video, motion graphics, visual explanations, illustrations, edited footage, and composited media for exhibit presentations.
  • Graphics for interactive experiences: touchscreen layouts, interface elements, visual assets, animated transitions, and other content prepared for implementation by our development team.
  • AI-assisted media: generated imagery and video, animated characters, digital presenters, voice and audio elements, and other generative content refined and integrated into finished productions.
  • Production-ready deliverables: organized, editable project files and correctly prepared media for different screen formats, language versions, and playback requirements.

Interactive programming is handled by other team members. Your responsibility is the creative media and visual assets, not writing the software.

What you bring

Strong Adobe Creative Cloud proficiency. You should be particularly capable in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro, with working knowledge of the wider Adobe creative suite.

A strong artistic foundation. Composition, typography, color, timing, movement, and visual storytelling should be evident in your work. You should be able to make information clear as well as visually compelling.

Production-level generative AI skills are essential. You should know how to direct and refine generated imagery and media, maintain visual and character consistency, identify and correct artifacts, and combine generated elements with conventional design, animation, editing, and compositing.

We are interested in people who use generative tools as part of a professional creative workflow, not as a substitute for artistic judgment and production skills.

Reliable production habits. You should be comfortable working from briefs, communicating clearly, responding constructively to feedback, meeting agreed deadlines, and maintaining well-organized project files that can be used by the rest of the production team.

Useful additional experience

Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity would be welcome, particularly for visual development, animation, or real-time content creation.

Other valuable skills include 3D modeling and animation, character animation, interface design, sound editing, and preparing accessible or multilingual media.

Experience creating media for museums, visitor centers, immersive environments, themed entertainment, or other experiential projects is helpful, but not essential.

The quality of your work and your contribution to it matter more than a particular industry background.

Why this role is different

Your work will become part of a physical experience that visitors can watch, explore, and interact with.

You will collaborate directly with artists, designers, programmers, engineers, and other members of the Mad team to take ideas from a creative brief through to finished media operating in the real world.

This is an opportunity to combine established artistic skills with emerging production methods, contribute creatively, and see your work through to its intended environment.
