The ride, not just the screen.

Working with Cambridge Seven, Mad designed and built the technical solution for a complete airboat experience. The installation combined a six-degree-of-freedom motion base with 26 seats, projection, multichannel audio and special effects.

The scope included safety mechanisms and overrides for the airboat, together with mechanisms that move the docks and the rear of the boat. These physical elements were part of the same coordinated experience.

Sound in an open museum.

The theater also required an acoustic approach suited to its setting. A scrim, rather than a separating wall, divided the attraction from the museum, so sound spill was a central consideration in the audiovisual design.

Mad provided the complete technical system as a turnkey delivery.

Design. Engineer. Deliver.

What should your visitors experience?

Bring Mad your brief, an exhibit idea or an operating challenge. We can connect the experience with the audiovisual systems, software and physical details needed to realize it.
